Lazar Berman is the diplomatic and Christian affairs correspondent at the Times of Israel. He was a researcher at the IDF/J3 Dado Center for Interdisciplinary Military Studies. He was also the foreign and defense policy research manager at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington DC. Lazar is a reserve captain in the IDF Commando Brigade. He holds an MA in military operations from Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program, where he wrote his thesis on IDF innovation, and is currently a PhD student in the War Studies department at King’s College London. With a Jewish Studies degree, a backpack and a violin, Deputy Editor Amanda Borschel-Dan moved to Israel in 1999 on the eve of the great Jerusalem garbage strike. A mother of seven, Borschel-Dan worked at The Jerusalem Post for a decade, primarily as its Friday Magazine editor before becoming a founding TOI staff member with an ever-changing role.
